It’s Spring! New seedlings are beginning to make the greenhouses look like a jungle. The earth is ready and waiting for those seedlings to be planted. We’re just waiting for the weather to become reliably warm or at least reliably unfrosty (I might have invented a word there).
It’s also time for baby chicks. The chicks at Allen Heirloom Homestead come from Murray McMurray Hatchery. Aren’t they beautiful?
A few days ago I filmed the sheep getting their spring haircuts. It was an awesome experience. I loved it. The sheep shearer travels around to farms shearing the sheep. The wool is being washed and will be carded and spun into wool yarn. It was an honor to get to experience that and to film it.
